I think it is important to watch shows like 20/20, Dateline, etc., because our patients watch them and talk about them with their friends, and then come in asking questions of us. If we have seen them, we can better answer the questions that our patients ask. It is also a wonderful opportunity to comment on the fact that these programs always find the most rare, worse case scenarios to present.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education.
