I actually spoke (coincidentally) to the MSD rep ( they market Fosomax over here. He said there was no data availoable on Fosomax as primary prevetion of osteoporosis, but that he understood trials of HRT +/- Fosomax were underway/planned. He confirmed they did not currently promote it for this use as there was no licence. He sounded very optimistic that the trials would produce benefit, but this sounded like baseless optimism to me !

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education.
