I don't understand why there would be a reduction is osteoporosis associated with breast feeding. Intuitively, the risk should increase because of the hypoestrogenemia associated with nursing. Is there really evidence that breast feeding protects against osteoporosis?

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit.
