I use placental gradingFrom: MARK LAWSON (lawson98@juno.com)Mon Jul 7 20:50:52 1997
And if the placenta is thin and Grade III-IV and the growth parameters are 20% at 30w0d....... my physicians take that into consideration in their management and we are happy to evaluate the placenta.....( I like finding the acretas ahead of time). If the fundal height is a bit low and weight gain so-so, growth by U/S less than 50% ...... My doctors follow that patient differently if there is premature placental calcifications....... Does it matter???..... IMHO I think so ... It is one of those total picture thangs, if PE and patient doing great with normal growth parameters by U/S and only Gr.III placenta..... no big deal is made, but let the scales tip and ........ ....... doesn't all science start with anecdotal information then move the scientific proofs???? Do we have any input from the pathologists???

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
