Re: Another case from MalcolmFrom: Laifer, Dr. Steven (pslaif@bpthosp.chime.org)Thu Jul 3 15:36:29 1997
<Unless any one gets it soon I'll come clean. Malcom: With the [limited] clinical and laboratory info you've provided, I would suspect acute viral hepatitis (A; she is HepBSAg negative). Other helpful info might be exposures, ingestion of shell fish, ?drug or toxin exposure, occupation, blood pressure, Hgb, platelets. If she has acute viral hepatitis, I would be reluctant to deliver her in the acute setting unless there is evidence of fetal compromise. Happy Fourth to Listmembers; with respectful consideration to our colleagues in the UK. S. Laifer MFM Bridgeport, CT

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
