Re: Archie CochraneFrom: Malcolm Griffiths (malcolm@mgriff22.demon.co.uk)Mon Jun 30 14:23:26 1997
It wasn't Ian Chlamers who castigated O&G for being non-evidence based it was Archie Cochrane. In the forewarod to the book ( Effective care ... ) co-authored by Chalmers, Cochrane wrote: "... I now have no hesitation in withdrawing the slur of the wooden spon from obstetrics, ..." Of course whether we can no ALL assume th mantle of ebing truly evidence-based is quite another question. The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
