so, state of washington voters approved a package of $350 million in parking, hotel, and admission ticket taxes along with sports lottery to build a sports stadium. Add to this microsoft co-founder paul allen's contribution of $100 million for the stadium, $200 million to buy the seattle football team (whose california shopping mall developer/team owner wanted to move the team to los angeles), $10 million so far to attract better players, $4 to pay for the cost of the special election, $5 million on election advertising. a third of a billion dollars: that's a lot of software sales.

now ask the same electorate or their representatives to increase funding for insurance for the working, uninsured poor. not a chance; in fact despite a booming local economy, the state legislature rolled back health care reforms that among other results had dramatically reduced ER business as many previously uninsured became eligible for hmo or ppo care and so did not need to use ER for primary care.

as for paul allen, he's also funded a multi-million dollar building (in the shape of a broken guitar) for experimental music, and he offered $100 million to help build a new park near downtown seattle, but voters refused to come up with matching funds (the same voters also turned down the stadium; it was the football/soccer loving suburbs that provided the winning margin on the stadium vote)

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
