Re: Not exactly a pain in the buttFrom: ENDODOK@aol.comSun Sep 29 11:09:50 1996
Terri: I would suggest local injection with Xylocaine to be sure that the pain is a local, delineated problem. I would also favor excision over CO2 ablation because she may have an incisional neuroma as the real reason for the tenderness and laser epidermectomy will not go deep enough to eradicate it. Further if you are not exceptionally careful and ablate to the third plane you will have poor healing because of the 3rd degree burn. I would also think that the healing process, because it is so uncomfortable, will magnify her focus on this already painful region Glenn

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
