Re: post amnio miscarriagesFrom: Garry E. Siegel (garrys@atl.mindspring.com)Fri Sep 27 15:38:24 1996
Dear Alan: While I don't have a reference handy, I recall a figure of 1/3% pregnancy loss rate after a mid trimester genetic amnio, with a 1% fluid leakage rate. Whether right or wrong, I quote this to patients pre-amnio. They also have to sign an informed consent, mandated by state law, that tells them more than they ever would want to know. I hope that this helps. If you need, I can get off my lazy rear and look up a refernce--e mail me directly if you so desire.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
