Is the patient on any medications e.g., psychotherapeutics? I would wonder about intrapartum anesthesia and analgesia. What was the management of the second stage, the size of infant and type of presentation? I would consider a neuropathy from lithotomy. What is her neurological exam? Finally, this could be a precursor to full blown MS some time down the line, brought on at this time by the physical stresses of delivery, and/or pharmacotherapy during labor. Probably this will resolve just as the previous episodes, so I don't know how much of a work-up I would do.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
