Previa and Abstention?From: Arthur W. Curtis, Jr. (artcurtis@juno.com)Fri Sep 20 07:56:51 1996
>Do you routinely tell all these women to avoid sex until this time & >praevia is excluded, even if there has been no APH?
>>Our group does not ask women with previa on 19 week scans to abstain. I also don't ask patients to abstain with previa on 18wks scans, but others in our group do require abstention! Is anyone aware of any study data or standard regarding asymptomatic previa incidentally found on mid trimester scan?? Is this a medical legal response?

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
