Re: AmenorrheaFrom: SAVARIS@vortex.ufrgs.brWed Sep 4 19:28:29 1996
Sorry folks... It is such a nice thing to see how far away we can go from the initial discussing. The main concern was about amenorrhea in a heavy smoker If everybody is feeling bad to give her OCP, why not IUD? Secondly,if we want to prevent endometrial cancer why not progesterone in the second phase? Thirdly, I dont know about you, but it is easier to say "quit smoking"than do it...we are dealing with a very powerfull and addictive drug, and to be honest, we are loosing the war against Tabacco companies. If you have a patient who is cocaine addicted, you dont say, quit it and send him away, nicotine is as much addictive as cocaine. There is a new trend for helping smoker to quit, the GPs are more aware about it than me, but it has to do with giving them another alternative Ricardo Savaris,MD,MSc savaris@vortex,ufrgs.br

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
