I just reponded to a similar comment from Joe THE MAN! It seems to me that you follow him in looking out for your own interests over hers. Look at it this way: what would you do for her if you lived in a country where there was no such thing as legal liability, medical malpractice, etc? Would you then agree that the risk of morbidity from pregnancy outwieghed the risk of morbidity from BCPs, and prescribe them? If so, and you would not now because of fear of liability, then you absolutely are putting your own interests ahead of the patient's interests, and that is just wrong, wrong, wrong.

IMHO, of course.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
