Re: AmenorrheaFrom: Ealgail@aol.comWed Sep 4 00:15:48 1996
A woman who smokes >1ppd if cigarettes has greater problems than amenorrhea. Forget the amenorrhea and insist that she stop smoking. I usually tell patients that if they are really worried about their health...get their priorities straight. It is senseless to worry about anything in gynecology short of cancer, while they are still smoking. I am radical on the subject...but then I buried my mother last fall, after my sister, a nurse, and I had to make the decision to turn off her respirator. Yes, she had lung cancer and I am proud that I did everything I could to try to get her to quit. Linda Morrison-Boczar, M.D. Asst. Prof. - IU

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
