CyclosporineFrom: Bill Katz (katz@maine.com)Mon Sep 2 13:25:26 1996
September 2, 1996 Dear Fellow Listers: I currently have an obstetric patient whose husband had a renal transplant and is on cyclosporine to suppress rejection. "Drugs in Pregnancy and Lactation" does not consider cyclosporine to be a human teratogen, but I was able to find two references through Medline to teratogenicity in mice. Do any of you have any experience or knowledge of any relationship between paternal cyclosporine use and any fetal effect such as anomalies or growth retardatiol? Regards, Bill Katz katz@maine.com is:

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
