The "Contract with America" (from the Republicans) was revolutionalry, because it was presented BEFORE the election (I know, because I read it before the election), and was the reason for the overwhelming '94 vote.

The "Contract for America" was from the Democrats in response to the "Contract with America" - and IT was presented to America AFTER the election.

The "Contract with America" had specific items that the Republicans said that they would bring to the floor within the first 100 days. Albeit, a large number of those items made it through the House, but not the Senate. Of course, watching Clinton's speech last night, it was interesting hearing him take the credit for many items listed in the contract.

The "Contract for America" had several short statements (BTW: was presented out in front of the Capital Building in Washington, D. C.). They said (and although I have it on video, I have not watched it recently enough to remember the exact wording, but this is close) 1) Respect for the American worker. 2) Strengthening the American family. 3) Improve American education 4) Reduce crime....There's more, but as you can see, there is no comparison between the two contracts. Anyone who has made a plan of care for a patient knows that you would be reamed for something so unspecific. (Can you imagine writing an order for an infection that states "Get patient well" - no, but that is exactly what the "Contract for America" does). The assuption/inference that the liberals/news media has made from this contract is that Republicans don't care for these issues. How many of you believe that?

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
