Re: On becoming an OB/GYNFrom: Richard Chudacoff, MD (richardc@bcm.tmc.edu)Wed Aug 28 14:55:19 1996
I concur. Other thoughts: Go to a small school rather than a big "pre-med" institution. It is better to be a big fish in a small pond than a small fish in a big pond when apply to med school. Also, think about a subject major that interests you, rather than the major that you 'think' will get you into med school, as you may need to fall back on that. Working, not just volunteering, in a medical setting is of benefit. Hey, you might find out that you don't like medicine.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
