Nautral Progesterones and EstrogenFrom: CNMPAT@aol.comTue Aug 27 16:16:03 1996
Some mention wild yam cream, sublingual yam drops (!), micronized progesterone, estrogen pellets, etc. I admit to being pretty clueless on this subject. I'm starting a lit search, but in the meantime, anybody use this stuff? Thanks in advance, Actually there is quite a bit out there. Do an Internet search too. Some of the products are quite reliable, dosage wise. I will offer these things as an option for women who want to avoid synthetics. Acutally, I try to present all of the options. I would also be interested in hearing what's done in other countries. I understand natural progesterones in the form of tablets and gels are being used in England and Australia. Also, I understand that the patches of both estrogen and prgesterone are natural hormones. Also, there are several references geared to the consumers about alternatives to synthetic estrogen and progesterone. Several popular books are: Listening to Your Hormones, by Gillian Ford Screaming to be Heard by Dr. Elizabeth Lee Vliet What Your Doctor May Not Tell You About Menopause by Dr. John R. Lee Women's Bodies, Women's Wisdom by Dr.Christine Northrup Pat Sonnenstuhl, CNM,ARNP,RH South Sound Women's Center: 2 CNMs and 3 OB/GYNs Olympia, WA cnmpat@aol.com HTTP://home.aol.com/CNMPAT August 27, 1996 12:57 pm

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education.
