Re: "Natural" estrogens/progestinsFrom: Lynn Mandel (lmandel@u.washington.edu)Sun Aug 25 14:14:43 1996
There are many sites on the Web about natural hormones and alternative approaches to treating side effects of menopause. An example is "Menopause Matters" http://world.std.com/~susan207/. There is an explanation of a lot of herbal remedies. Dr. John Lee has written a lot about natural progesterone. A search of "natural progesterone" or "menopause" will get you a lot of these sites. They are not exactly scientific, however, and some have a definite axe to grind. If you are interested in finding out more about what the women who *don't* come to see you are thinking, subscribe to the MENOPAUS list. Warning, there is a lot of doc bashing and your mailbox will be inundated but list participants discuss their experiences with alternative therapies. Interesting for a short time but guaranteed to anger everyone. This URL tells about the list and how to subscribe: http://tile.net/lists/menopaus.html

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
