Re: Urinary assays for osteoporosis--clinical applicationsFrom: David and Valerie Buck (dnvbuck@rof.net)Thu Aug 22 22:53:50 1996
Why get a dexascan? Why not encourage her to take estrogen (as it sounds you have), the only medicine studied for the time she would have to take it and if she refuses, give her the option of fosamax with the info that little is known about its long term use (if it will even help to take it for 40 yrs if she lived to 85) especially in assymptomatic pts. Wouldn't the scan tell you both what you already know? The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
