Question: 27 yo woman presenting for pre-pregnancy counseling with husband who has 1 sister and one aunt with CF who also has neural tube defects X2 on his father's side. There are no effected sibs or parents. 1. ACOG would say use regular folate (0.4 mg); Do you agree? 2. Would you recommend screening for only the woman and assume he is heterozygous and then do an amnio or CVS if she is heterozygous? Dave dnvbuck@rof.net David S. The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
