Re: NST Equivalent?From: R. Daniel Braun (rBraun@IUNET.IUPUI.EDU)Tue Aug 20 08:03:53 1996
This is indeed the method for performing an NST during biophysical profile as described by Manning in the original and subsequent papers on the topic. Those who do an NST on paper are not following the originally described protocol for a biophysical profile. @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@ R.Daniel Braun, MD FACOG "Money will buy you a fine dog, Clinical Professor but only love can make it wag its Department of OB/GYN tail" Indiana U. I am concerned that a nearby hospital has been using this for a complete BPP without requiring the NST be performed. I think decelerations would be missed with this method. Any comments?

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
