Speaking of IUPCs, how do listmembers feel about amnioinfusion for thick meconium, without FHR deceleration? The literature looks equivocal, most where I practice do it only when variables are present unlike my previous practice site. I did it recently and the pediatrician was very appreciative that the meconium was diluted. It seems to me worth doing, as the risks of are minimal and the potential benefit great. The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education.
