I think it's a bit of a stretch to assume that this lady's retinal vein occlusion is the result of ERT - is it clear that there is a thrombus in the vein or are there other possible etiologies ? (I frankly do not know.) Even were there a clot, in the absence of abnormal clotting studies, I woould likely continue this lady's ERT with her consent after I told her that in the absence of knowledge it was my feeling that her over all risk would be decreased with the ERT.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
