Somehow they would be able to prove that you somehow did not really, truly, adequately inform her of the risks - even if you produce mountains of documents which she signed - somehow you blew it. Because if you were really effective in communicating the risks, she certainly would *NEVER* had opted for such a dangerous choice. Ultimately - it's your responsibility and "fault" if she chooses the wrong one... In a case a blatant as this, I might be terribly tempted to do all I could to convince her to make the only logical choice. If she insists on a "conservative" choice, I might be very tempted then to ask her to see another physician... Philip

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education.
