Re: 20 Week Fibroid UterusFrom: DJKrell@aol.comTue Oct 31 05:11:35 1995
I think the larger question is whether or not to offer anything other than gentle, persistant, persuasive reccomendations that surgery is the correct form of therapy. Over my brief 18 years of experience in this business, I've come accross many people (Including those with a tissue diagnosis of a malignancy) that refused to have the right thing done to them. Many have been snatched from the jaws of death by my scalpel at the last moment. Others have done fine without my therapeutic suggestion. A few have died or developed life altering consequenses that I could have prevented. That was their right, God bless them. My failure was not being able to bend them to my point of view. Its hard to live with failure, but I would quit giving this patient anything until you've convinced her that your approach is the best. Now, the possibility of treating this woman with a combination of Lupron, followed by Myolysis procedure is an option that could be explored. Even if you were unfamiliar with myolysis, she could be sent to those who do it. (It costs $49.95 and is available with blue-green algae and a chinese mushroom now on sale at K-mart....just kidding. The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
