Interestingly.. her Hct has dropped to 22%, WBC ct now at 5.3, ALT/ST 35/59 (decreasing), albumin 1.7 (was 3.2 only 3 weeks ago), total bili 0.4, LDH down to 274 (peaked at 523), serum Ferritin 1053 (10 times the upper limit of normal), and stool guaiac negative......

Preliminary urine culture growing gram variable rods....

Heme is consulting and may recommend a bone marrow biopsy..

Dr. Chase... Urine output has been good...

Keep the suggestions coming.. Thanks for your help. I cannot wait for the exciting conclusion.. If this turns out to be a zebra, perhaps it would make a good case report (the case and the expert input from all involved through the list..)
