Central Retinal Vein Occlusion +/- HRTFrom: John Brennan (jbrennan@panix.com)Mon Oct 30 10:52:41 1995
I'd like to poll the list members for their opinions, experience, and advice relevant to the following case: 47 y.o. P0 sustained unilateral central retinal vein occlusion 2 months ago. This has caused a partial but annoying visual defect, and opthalmologic RX is watchful waiting for approximately 6 months. She has been on HRT for 2 years, and is otherwise quite healthy. The patient is an avid scuba diver who makes her living as an underwater photographer. Opinions are [very] divided on whether or not she can or should continue HRT. HRT was started more for long-term health benefits than symptom relief. Any input will be gratefully received. Thanks, John

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
