re: the patient with leucocytosis and liver tenderness, would seem the possible etiologies would include CMV and EBV hepatitis. If push came to shove, you could consider liver biopsy though certainly you would want to avoid this during pregnancy. I'll forward your dilemna to an ID friend of mine who was once an ID fellow at Baylor.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education.
