Mitch suggests that po terb is a "cheap" alternative to an expensive hospital visit to rule out cervical change. I would rather pay dollars than CHO tolerance, macrosomia or the rare pulmonary edema. Perhaps the best alternative is to not charge for L&D visits that don't result in admissions. I don't believe we do unless consumables are. The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education.
