Electronic match in Ob-GynFrom: Joshua Copel (Joshua.Copel@QuickMail.Yale.edu)Fri Oct 27 16:20:28 1995
Subject: Time: 5:17 PM OFFICE MEMO Electronic match in Ob-Gyn Date: 10/27/95 We are facing the electronic match this year for the first time & wonder how any of you on the list who are screening applications are handling things. Apparently printing applications out takes 10-15 min/applicant & we have about 500 to screen in deciding who to interview. Normally a few of us take the paper applications home to review transcripts, Dean's letters, recommendations etc, then decide who to interview. Now I am being told we can use the wonders of computers to select cutoffs (GPA >3.0 or whatever). Problem is, I like to review who the people are, CV's & letters are what I use. Other than a GPA, I'm not sure how we could even use specific computer driven selection criteria. Anybody have a solution, aside from my spending several days in our administration office squinting at an IBM terminal (a fate worse than death for a Mac user)? The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
