Bornstein MD >Taunton, MA Dr. Moise will get a kick out of my diagnostic evaluation for patient's with DVT's and PE's.. (we talked about it on rounds the other day).. Apparently there is an inherited factor Va mutation that is present in 5% of the population. This defect results in continued coagulation due to inability for activated protein C to inactivate factor V. A genetic test can now be performed for this coagulation problem.. If you want more info, I imagine Dr. Moise could shed some light on it.. <kmoise@bcm.tmc.edu> cul8r Geff Klein, MD Baylor College of Medicine, Dept OB-GYN 1 Baylor Plaza Houston, Texas 77030 Tel # 713 798 7500 e-mail: gklein@bcm.tmc.edu http://www.bcm.tmc.edu/obgyn/obgyn-ce/geff.html listowner: OB-GYN-L

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
