Contrary to Dr Grubbs comments, the standard of care requires that we follow the patient until there is a negative hcg. I would agree that less is more for example repeating ultrasounds rarely contributes much after the dx of blighted ovum. We follow serum hcg until there is a decreasing titre noted and then repeat a urine hcg in 7 to 10 days.
