What was the ratio of the head circumference to the abdomimal circumference? Was it frank, complete or footling, was the head extended or flexed? Was there cord below the presenting part? These things would influence my management significantly

I might have done a vaginal delivery if the HC/AC ratio was appropriate, and the presentation was frank or complete with no cord and a flexed head. However what you should do depends on your previous experience and what you are comfortable doing. I would never suggest to someone without some previous experience delivering breeches that they should have delivered this one vaginally. John G. M. The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
