You could have taken the myoma out at a dear price.

I was called to the OT some 9 months ago for an abd pregnancy. It was supposed to be an el c/s for transverse lie. The pregnancy was implanted at the R cornual end of the uterus from the serosal surface and the whole placenta, membraines and the baby(delivered by then) was outside. There was already a rapidly enlarging haematoma between the plac and the uterus tracking under the membraines. Despite several large stitches to both lateral aspects of the uterus to arrest the ascending utrine arteries, the wedged resection of the R corneal end resulted in 4-5 litres(I cannot remember exact amount) of blood loss by the time all is done. The patient went into DIVC and 'out of it' again through the op. Interestingly, the uterus went into atony momentarily (anoxic?) and poured half way throu the op but remained contracted after. She was well post op and recovered no worse than her neighbour and would not have known what we have gone through in the OT.

I suppose your myomect would be as eventful unless you are having an exceptional circumstance.
