Is this the La Boyer method being "reborn"?? We had installed a hot tub in our hospital about 10 years ago when this method was the rage. It was never proven to be of any benefit medically, tho the hospital got a lot of good press from it. Those who used it in their practices have subsequently abandoned the use for lack of any advantage, cost in terms of personnell and risk (unproven procedure). It may be that "managed care" will see this also as "experimental", therefore not reimbursing for the additional expense and the procedure may die a natural death.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
