Re: Shoulder Dystocia and the "all fours maneuver"From: TFitzpa838@aol.comMon Oct 16 16:35:12 1995
I agree completely that there is no getting comfortable with serious shoulder dystocia. It is possible to become more comfortable with the routine manuevers that make moderate dystocia easier to resolve. However serious dystocia is absolutely the most frightening thing that we deal with. One important thing often neglected is to have someone note the time at the beginning of delivery efforts. Also calling for the most senior help available is critical. No one should have to go through it alone. Timothy Fitzpatrick md baystate medical center tfitspat838

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
