A medical student who is both deaf and mute and has utilized both high tech communication devices and personal assistants to successfully complete his undergraduate training is requesting to be interviewed for a residency in obsterucs and gynecology. He has listed the various elements of assistance that he will need to initiate our program. For the moment, disregard the cost of these items in your response and please let me know if anyone has experienced such a request and does anyone know of a physician who went through a residency in this manner. The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
