Re the lady who alleges being awake throughout her laparoscopy I think the surgeon should increase his bill - like the plumber's sign - $40/hr, double if you watch, triple if you help I hope this will be thrown out by a common sense judge - if not, the defense will have to be stable vital signs and recruited memory (memories brought on by suggestion they might be present). The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education.
