elevated MSAFPFrom: David Nagey (dnagey@c3p0.ab.umd.edu)Mon Oct 9 23:10:08 1995
What about elevated amniotic fluid AFP and a normal scan/chromosomes? I was taught that such pregnancies were at risk of IUGR related to "placental leak". What are your thoughts? Chris Stroud, MD OB/GYN Beloit, WI !>> Before we start doing extra tests and intervening in pregnancies, we should show that those tests and interventions do some good. I agree that MSAFP is often elevated in placenta accreta and feto-maternal bleed - but what can we do in those situaions that causes greater good? The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
