Re: Elevated AFPFrom: David Nagey (dnagey@c3p0.ab.umd.edu)Sun Oct 8 18:39:15 1995
I presented a paper at the SPO 2-3 years ago (and have yet to write it up, much to my shame) showing that an elevated MSAFP in an anatomically normal fetus carried with it only a 2-fold increase in IUFD risk - most of which was identifiable based on very poor fetal growth - thus there is no appropriate intervention in the anatomically normal fetus with an elevated MSAFP. The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
