Joe Pastorek asked: Let me ask another question of the group: Is anyone out there using progesterone longer during pregnancy for other indications, like bleeding and spotting (with or without low progesterone levels, whatever you think they are) or for uterine cramping early in gestation or in the middle trimester? !>> I use 17-alpha OH-P 250 mg IM 1-2x/week in folks with a bad history of prior preterm deliveries and in folks with abnormal uteri. I have had limited success in treating symptomatic leiomyomata in pregnancy this way. !>> My partners use it too, but refer to it as "herb" despite the RCT's. The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
