Re: Date: Sun, 1 Oct 1995 16:26:48 -0700 From: marshalt@ix.netcom.com (Robert Damashek) Subject: Microsurgical Tubal Reanastomosis Specialists There is no "registry" as such of microsurgeons. The only authoratative body as such is the Society of Reproductive Surgeons (SRS), a subgroup of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM, formerly American Fertility Society - AFS). This still is no guarantee of expertise. Unfortunately, fellowships in reproductive endocrinology contain no requirement for surgical training and still no specific requirement for patient care at all. The SRS does sponsor a one year fellowship in pelvic surgery which has been going on for several years now. If you want a specific referral, E-mail me with your location for suggestions. The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
