Shoulder Dystocia and the "all fours maneuver"

I recently came across a very brief description of the "all fours maneuver." The "all fours" was described as a maneuver which could be used to treat shoulder dystocia. The maneuver appears quite simple, you just place the mother in "all fours", but not in a knee chest position. It appears this changes pelvic dimensions (angle of sacrum) with resolution of the shoulder dystocia. I wonder if any of you has had any experience with this maneuver. also, I have been unable to come across any references regarding the "all fours." Any information regarding this maneuver will be appreciated. Thanks, Vladimir Troche
