Hep C and pregnancyFrom: Glen Elrod (dr99645@yahoo.com)Sat May 23 21:56:45 2009
Our local perinatologist has suggested that due to the high numbers of Hep C that they see, that we add Hep C Ab testing to our routine prenantal set. I am not familiar with hep C testing beyond simple antibody testing. If a pregnant woman is positive for Hep C AB what is the next testing needed?
>From what I've read, I'm assuming it will be LFT and a test for viral load. Thanks, Glen

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
