Re: VBAC dying art>From: vnellsch (vnellsch@eastex.net)Tue Mar 31 13:22:16 2009
joanne, we have an anesthetist in house 24/7 anyway. the o.r. crew is notified, and come in when the patient goes from latent phase labor to active labor. practically speaking, the on call o.r. crew is usually here anyway. the big changes are in the consent form and the monitoring/permitted activity of the patient. i saw a vbac candidate monday, showed her the new consent form, and she and her partner both blanched. if the intent of the hospital is to stop or cut down on vbacs, i would have to say this will do it. verner nellsch, md

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
