Nonpregnant teens have the right to make decisions regarding contraception in most, if not all states, as far as I know. To be on the safe side, you should probably have the kid sign something if they want Mom to be able to refill their pills. My kids all have signed statements in their charts giving the doc permission to communicate with me about their general medical care. Anna Meenan, MD

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education.
