Fibroids and pemphigusFrom: ND84MD@aol.comMon Mar 23 17:15:14 2009
Have a patient with 2 years of pemphigus skin lesions unresponsive to steroids, IVIG, plasmaphoresis. she brings an article from some website claiming that fibroids are related to pemphigus and she wants a 5 cm fibroid that we have been watching removed. after much discussion I agree to the myomectomy after having her sign consent form stating that this will not likely help her skin condition. jump to the two week post op visit; all lesions are cleared. anyone with any experience in this area? any explanations? Chris Stanley. MD

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
