I have done a few tub births. Vet gloves are a necessity. Maybe I can hunt up the protocols from my old hospital. I wished I had the extra long gloves.? I was a bit concerned about going out to dinner last night that I might not have scrubbed enough after the delivery. Its incredibly odd not being able to see what you are doing when the head crowns, being disoriented when you try to figure out which way is down for the anterior shoulder, but no tears, EBL of 100 at most and a great baby. BTW, if the goal is to get out of the tub to deliver the placenta, I would caution against doing anything to the cord clamp.? It looked like a massacre in the tub when I just moved the clamp a bit. The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
