Re: post-Essure HSGsFrom: Joanne Bulley, MD (islesannie@gmail.com)Sat Jan 31 16:42:05 2009
So far I have not had a a patient call and complain that it had not been covered. Make sure your radiologist are coding it for confirmation of tubal occlusion and not for infertility -- they should be using a different code. Check with your Essure Rep for the codes ... or read the CPT /and ICD 9 stuff. Your radiologists biller may not have a clue that they are billing it wrong - and call your MD Rep at the insurance company. I know that is a realy PITA as you have to go through the friggin' automated phone tree for many minutes til you might have the luck of talking to a REAL person who is supposed to be your rep. Joanne

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
